So, summer is officially lurking around the corner, which means wardrobes are being rotated, donated, or discarded to make room for the uniforms of hot weather. Did you know that beauty products require the same treatment? Of course you did. Those concealers, foundations, shadows, and lipsticks/gloss shades have to be reevaluated due to our sun-kissed complexions and seasonal weather conditions. I admit to being a product horder, of sorts. I own a variety of concealers and foundations, that I rarely use. I prefer lipgloss, so I collect those as well, although I have some sticks thrown in too. I collect eye shadow palettes that I can’t seem to blend, so I usually end up just covering the lid, adding gel or liquid liner, mascara and calling myself made up. I’ve sat with Bobbi Brown, MAC, Tony & Tina, and Sephora “artists” watching the process of application only to fail duplication once home. Yet I continue to stock pile product.
Who was it that said, nothing beats a failure, but a try. Well, there I was last week trolling through Sephora with high hopes of finding the right summer beauty finds to add to the chest. The fruits of my labor….
one/ shadow insurance, too faced * my eyelids can get oily causing shadows to crease and cake. i’ve read about this little miracle worker, so i’m anxious to put her to work.
two/ jumbo eyeliner, sephora * i recently watched a tutorial about taking a crayon type liner and smudging it for a sexy smoky eye. “nothing beats a…..
three/ eye shadow, stila * this shadow looked awfully dark in the container, but when applied wet, it became a really fun purple, not puuurrrrple. (pls. forgive me if you don’t get the reference, I love that lowe’s commercial)
four/ tinted moisturizer, stila * i’m stoked about this one, as i have zero clue about the proper blending of concealer and foundation. bonus- it has a 20 spf and i will layer that with my daily moisturizer.
five/ high shine lip gloss, smashbox * i love my lipgloss poppin! (again, if you don’t know the reference apologies)
