Let me begin by stating, I’ve never met a lipgloss that I didn’t like. So imagine my excitement to find a “lipgloss that wears like a lipstick”- Armour Beauty. A line of fantastic glosses created by rocker chick-model-mom, Theo Kogan. In true rock-n-roll fashion, each lipgloss is named for some of Theo’s favorite songs, icons, and clubs. The tagline alone drew me in promising what I determined to be a long-lasting, highly pigmented, shiny goodness.

It did not disappoint. Yup, all of the above was true. Armour Beauty is made with naturally enriching properties creating a smooth moisture base. I’ve worn it exclusively over the past couple of weeks and can’t rave enough about the gorgeous shine, silky texture, and staying power. Unlike many glosses, the need for constant reapplication is nonexistent, hence it wearing like lipstick. It retails comparable to other luxe brands, think Nars, Bobbi Brown. The collection boasts shimmers and opaques that compliment all skin tones.

Do yourself a favor and add this one to your beauty bag.

The 2012 Primetime Emmy red carpet is in the books and the trophies awarded. Unfortunately the show was a snooze, but the arrivals provided a hopeful precursor to the night. I was pleasantly surprised to see the many pops of color blanketing the carpet, bold lips included. I watched in full on empathy mode considering Los Angeles was grappling with 90 plus degree weather. Imagine donning long gowns, layers of cosmetic enhancement all the while smiling and pausing for effect…think summertime perspiring in your best drag. These woman managed to look amazing while coping with the elements.

Last weekend we explored the Renegade Craft Fair, which is an awesome outdoor experience where indie artisans get to showcase and sell their wares. The fair has been a Chicago staple for 10 years having branched out to other cities and countries over the years.

There were gorgeous textiles, fabulous prints and painting, one-of-a-kind jewelry curated by artists from Chicago and surrounding areas. I spotted a few vendors from as far away as Georgia. We dined on local eats, quenched our thirsts with “drinks”, and jammed to great indie bands!

I really loved these Hip Huts they’re ideal for kid sleepovers, camping indoors or out, not to mention they come in cool patterns and colors.

Autum has always been my absolute favorite time of year. The beautiful colors. The fashion. Crisp, cool weather. The brink of the holiday season. But most importantly… the dawn of awards season, for television and film. I’ve never met a red carpet parade that I didn’t like! So, in anticipation of Sunday’s small screen fete’, I’ve combed the internet for images of my favorite ladies from last year’s show.

I really love Kate Holmes’ effortless chic look and her makeup is dewy goodness….me like.

WTTW, Chicago’s PBS station hosted their 3rd annual “Fun Run” to support continued children’s programming. There were kiddie “rock bands”, snacks, Elmo, Grover, the Cat in the Hat, Curious George, and a host of other characters. Gillian thoroughly enjoyed running back and forth mingling with children, sliding and jumping- her first experience in a jumpy. I was nervous that she’d get trampled, not able to balance her weight, however in classic Gilly form…she rocked!

It was such a fun-filled day, can’t wait for next year’s!

Cupcakes are finally receiving their accolade as confection elite, and I couldn’t be happier. I prefer a cupcake to a piece of cake or pie…surely I’m not alone judging from all of the shows and shops dedicated to those mini treats.
So, you can imagine my delight with the prospect of scoring a delicious treat.. 24 hours a day… via cupcake ATM…absoulte genius! Thanks, Sprinkles!

There’s a camera inside of the machine that allows you to watch your cupcake’s descent from purchase to enjoyment. So awesomely cool! The next time you’re in the Windy City, stop by and grab one.

Her transformation from cute, wiry girl next door to sexy, svelte, dating hot ass Ryan Reynolds, while appearing to remain humble- evokes total girl crush. She looks incredible in this ad campaign, can’t wait to try some. After all you know how I LOVE a good perfume.
